This is from the poppies series done during my most recent stay in France. Rain wasn't in the forecast, but it started to drizzle as soon as I arrived at this beautiful field. I had to work fast to capture the rich colors and in so doing, used a looser style than in other paintings. The absence of bright sun enhanced the red of the poppies and blues of the lingering flax.
